The physical NRIC not only contains the individual’s NRIC number, but also other personal data, such as the individual’s full name, photograph, thumbprint and residential address. FAQ
Where can we ride PMDs? PMDs are only allowed on footpaths, cycling paths, and shared paths. PMDs are not allowed on roads, as well as pedestrian-only paths. How fast can we go? PMD users must keep below 25km/h on cycling and shared paths, and 15km/h on footpaths. Are all types of PMDs allowed? Your PMD must not weigh more than 20kg, must be less than 70cm in width, and must have its speed capped at 25km/h. This reduces the risk of serious injuries during a collision, allows devices and pedestrians to pass each other safely, and ensures users do not exceed the speed limit.

"The first graduate employment survey on students from nine private institutes who graduated in 2014 found that 42 per cent of them were unable to secure full-time jobs within six months of completing their studies. This is striking contrast to an 83 per cent successful full-time job rate among public university students." -CNA
I am lucky to have job offers right after I complete my final exam and before receiving my degree certificate in the convocation. I have good grades but not like those exceptional elite smart student grade with perfect score. My grade landed me with two different public university offers in my final semester of polytechnic. I don't always have good grade, and I not going to elaborate here to save for an extraordinary article in the future. Thoughts of applying to a private university never came into my mind before as the job market at that time was flourishing for poly graduate, even now too. I do have a large number of friends and ex-classmates who have gone the private university path. They have many different reasons for choosing a private university. A lot of them just can't afford the tuition fee expense, family commitment, need for income, etc. Many of the private university offers night classes or weekend classes that the public university do not offer. You can read more at the CNA article to know more about the local culture towards private/public university.
